Fine Art Prints
RGB is the new CMYK. Using 10-colour inkjet printing processes we achieve a far wider colour gamut than a traditional CMYK device. This results in your artwork looking just as good on paper as it does on screen. Photographic prints, Giclée prints, Fine art prints. Whatever you call them, we make them look amazing here at Pixelpaint.
FINE ART PRINTS - INSTANT QUOTE
Fine art, archival inkjet, giclée prints – they go by a few names. In a nutshell, they are ultra-high quality digital inkjet prints, with ink and papers that are designed to last a lifetime. A great choice for photography, art reproductions, gallery and museum prints, or just those extra special prints for home.
- Archival papers – extensively tested and certified to last a lifetime without deteriorating and yellowing over time.
- Archival inks – we use genuine Epson Ultrachrome aqueous pigment inks for maximum colour- fastness and longevity.
- High resolution – we print at ultra-high resolution to achieve the finest detail and smoothest colour gradation in our prints.
- Wide colour gamut – most printers use just four inks, CMYK, to produce their range of colours. We print with 10-colour printers for a MUCH wider colour gamut, resulting in eye-popping colours, smooth, gentle gradients, and perfectly neutral grayscale images. Perfection.

If your files don’t match these criteria perfectly, often we will find a way to make them work anyway… we’re pretty clever like that. If we notice something that seems out of place, we’ll get in touch before we print.
- FILE TYPE – PDF (preferred). We also accept high res TIFF or JPEG.
- SCALE – Set files to 100% of final print size. Fine art prints are hand-trimmed with care so there is no need for bleed or safe areas.
- BORDERS – If you require an additional border on your print (eg for framing), this should be included in your file, and the calculated size should include the border.
- RESOLUTION – Image files and raster graphics should be set to at least 300dpi (ppi) at 100% size. Vector graphics will be rendered at our max print resolution and will print cleanly at any size.
- FONTS – All fonts (if supplying a PDF) should be embedded or converted to outlines (paths).
- COLOUR – For the widest colour gamut, use Adobe RGB (1998). In the interests of matching your “intended” colours however, we will use the embedded colour profile of your file as the input profile, so there is no need to convert if you’re using something different.
- LAYERS – All layers, especially transparency layers, should be flattened.
- EDITING – Do not preserve editing capabilities – this can make your file sizes massive and hard for us to work with. Instead, save your working files separately.
